Mr. Reihsen has founded, worked with and advised hundreds of enterprises from Fortune 500 companies to start-ups across innumerable industries. Industries of particular concentration are technology, healthcare, finance/credit, investment products/funds, real estate, maritime transport assets, and hospitality. Mr. Reihsen has proven ability to predict and exploit industry direction, create innovative strategies and structures, source capital (more than $6 billion to date), develop enterprises (aggregate value in excess of $12 billion), and execute on exits (through sales/mergers, exchange listings and asset sales).
Maintaining familiarity with emerging trends in technology and business adds to Mr. Reihsen’s strengths driving new disruptive businesses and keeping established businesses competitive. His current focus includes distributed ledger technology/blockchain technology products and businesses, including tokenization/cryptocurrency models.
In addition to his advisory and entrepreneurial activities Mr. Reihsen provides services on for-profit and non-profit boards. He served for three years as a member of the Board of Directors of Ashford, Inc. and during that time as its Audit Committee Chair and a member of various Special Committees. Gerry is a National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) Board Leadership Fellow.
As to non-profit activities, Mr. Reihsen’s major efforts have been dedicated to the founding of and subsequently serving on the board of
Cristo Rey Dallas College Preparatory School, the nation’s most innovative, differentiated, and successful high school concept, which provides life-altering opportunity to the nation’s low income inner city students.
