Edwin Tatum is the Founder & CEO of Detate Property Group, a premium real estate developer and builder focused on creating modern, residential and mixed-use homes.

In 2015 Tatum pivoted Detate’s model with the vision of offering authentic modern homes in the Dallas market. With a disruptive approach to building and selling modern “living spaces,” Tatum leads the company with a unique ability to obtain site control, financially re-position assets and manage construction to deliver value to his clients.

Design and innovation constitute the foundation of Detate, whose purpose is the development of modern communities with a diverse culture. Tatum’s passion for the industry comes from the understanding that as a developer, his company can fundamentally change the way people live.

Edwin played professional basketball in Latin America from 2006-2009 before an injury prematurely ended his career as an athlete. Nonetheless, Edwin’s experience in professional sports continues to reinforce his firm commitment to the importance of teamwork, discipline and work ethic.

Entering the real estate industry in 2009, Edwin combined his passion for real estate development with his entrepreneurial spirit. His experience in development transactions includes opportunity generation, construction management, owner representation/project management, and investor relations.
