Resource Supervisory Patent Examiner
Peter H. Choi is a Resource Supervisory Patent Examiner (SPE) at the Texas Regional Office of the USPTO. Peter graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering. He joined the USPTO in 2004 where he examined in the Business Methods area of Technology Center 3600, received full Signatory Authority in 2011 and became a Supervisor in Business Methods in 2012, receiving a Department of Commerce Bronze Medal award in 2013 and a Leadership in Action Award in 2014.
Peter has been involved in a detail assignment to the Office of Patent Training and has been involved in several projects, including collaborating with the European Patent Office
(EPO) in moving to the Cooperative Patent Classification system (CPC). Peter has hosted EPO representatives, serving as a Lead Quality Nominee in his area (G06Q) and was involved in providing training to USPTO and EPO examiners during the transition period to CPC.  Peter also serves as a member of the Patents Hiring team, involved in recruitment of engineers, scientists and physicists at the USPTO. Peter is currently serving as the lead SPE of the Texas Regional Office, responsible for oversight of Patent Operations issues.
