Sammetria Goodson is a Dallas-based Attorney who represents artists, influencers, designers, artpreneurs, entrepreneurs, organizations, and creative people changing the world. Sammetria graduated from Temple University Beasley School of Law, located in Philadelphia, PA. In law school, Sammetria completed several internships with arts-related organizations including a record company in Nashville, TN; a volunteer lawyer group for artists; and a city law department advising internal clients on public art in Philadelphia.

Since moving back home to Texas, Sammetria has been involved with a number of Arts-related organizations in Dallas. Sammetria is a member of the 2016-2017 Leadership Arts Institute Class for Business Council for the Arts, where she served as Co-Chair for the Institute’s culminating event. In addition, Sammetria provides pro bono legal services to arts organizations through her work with Texas Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts. Sammetria will also serve as a Mentor at the Dallas Entrepreneur Center South Extension once completed in 2018. As a graduate of both The University of Texas McCombs School of Business (Marketing) and the College of Fine Arts (Art History), Sammetria considers it a privilege to work with artists, arts organizations, creatives, small businesses, and startups.

Sammetria is a member of the Litigation Section of the Texas Bar Association, the Dallas Bar Association, and is a founding member of the Dallas Young Lawyers Division Art, Design, and Fashion Law Study Group. Sammetria recently joined the Board of Trustees for Lone Star Wind Orchestra, a North Texas-based wind band that strives to change lives through music. Sammetria is also a member of the Association of African American Museums. 

Sammetria is also licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, where she served as Law Clerk to the Honorable Leon W. Tucker for two years in one of the most robust Motions and Civil Litigation courts in the Commonwealth.     

Most weekends Sammetria is digging around in dirt and gardening, volunteering, or rambling through local nature preserves in Dallas. Sammetria also enjoys visiting museums, galleries, art shows & exhibitions, theater productions, performing arts and festivals of all sorts -which is how she spent her weekends growing up in Houston. Sammetria recently started studying flute, which has always been an interest despite originally choosing to play Alto Saxophone in middle school band.
